Four Pastors & a Mini-van

Driving

Yesterday I loaded up in a mini-van with three other pastors and headed out to the Church Planting Churches Network (www.cpcnonline.com) meeting in Nashville, TN.  As we got on the road most of us were still trying to wake up.  So, I drove until we could find a Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A.  There’s nothing quite like a strong cup of coffee and a “Christian” chicken biscuit.

After our stop for coffee and breakfast everyone was a bit more talkative, so I began to listen.  You will never guess what I heard.  I heard story after story of God’s faithfulness.  One pastor shared about how he and his family have felt led to move to a nearby city and start the process of planting a church.  Another pastor shared stories of how God has moved in his young church’s life over the last six months of it’s existence.  And one of our pastors shared story after story of God’s faithfulness to our church family – Revolution Church.

As I sat there and listened, I was reminded of how powerfully God is moving in our church and in the world around us.  He is doing a new thing, and I am excited about it.  As a matter of fact, I am more pumped today than I have ever been about what God is doing through local churches – including our own.  I believe that revival is coming and it will begin in local churches like ours.

Now, why did I share all of that?

We all need to be reminded that God is up to something.  We all need to be reminded that there is more going on in the world today that what we see in our own lives.  As a matter of fact, God is doing more in our lives than we can possible see or understand.

So, I want to encourage you today.  If you are wondering if God is even there or if He even cares, the answer is YES.  All you have to do is listen.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:19
